Another thing I noticed about my thoughts and feelings now that I’m older – I’m remembering people and places and things which I haven’t thought about for years. This is one of the reasons I concentrate my efforts on writing. It’s good for me. With my blog, I get to share things I’ve learned over the years. With my essays and short stories, I get to exercise my imagination. In my journal, I get to talk/write to myself about my feelings.
I consider this a healthy way for me to communicate with the world. Unlike a conversation, the words don’t just spill out of my mouth. I have a chance to consider what I say, so I’m much less likely to get into trouble.
I urge you to scribble. Take some time just for you. Talk to yourself, and maybe someday you’ll feel inclined to share what you’ve written with others. Maybe you’ll write your life story to give to the grandchildren. Maybe you’ll become a prize winning author. You never know.
